Who is Sheikh Al-Hussary?

Sheikh Mahmoud Khalil Al-Hussary (May Allah have mercy on him) was a legendary figure in the world of Quranic recitation.

• The Master of Reciters: He served as the President of the Egyptian Quran Reciters’ Guild and was one of the most prominent scholars of Quranic sciences in the 20th century.

• A Global Pioneer: He was the first person to record the "Murattal" (chanted) Quran for radio and global distribution in 1961, setting the standard for all reciters who followed.

• The "Scale" of Tajweed: Known for his strict adherence to rules, his voice is considered the "Master Reference" for anyone wanting to hear the Quran exactly as the rules of Tajweed dictate.

Why is practising with his voice helpful for students?

For students at Kayan Arabic Academy, practicing with Sheikh Al-Hussary is the most effective way to master the Arabic language and Quranic recitation for several reasons:

• Perfect Articulation (Makharij): His pronunciation is exceptionally clear. Every letter is given its full right, making it easy for non-Arabic speakers to distinguish between similar-sounding letters.

• Educational Pace: His "Mujawwad" style is characterized by a deliberate, steady tempo. This allows students enough time to listen, reflect, and repeat after him accurately.
